Cam & Heather Crawford

Heather Ammons Crawford grew up along the Grand Strand in Horry County. After graduating from Socastee High School, she went on to earn degrees from Horry Georgetown Technical College and Francis Marion University.

Upon graduating from FMU in 2005, where she served as the College Republican Chairman during her junior and senior years, she decided to return home to Socastee. Since then she co-founded the Grand Strand Young Republicans and served as its Chair for two years. Additionally, Crawford served as the Horry County Executive Committeeman for the South Carolina Republican Party from 2009-2011.

As a pro-life advocate Crawford has enjoyed serving on the board of the Grand Strand Citizens for Life and Coastline Women’s Center, spending a considerable amount of time fundraising for LIFE and other conservative causes. Crawford is also an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment and has co-sponsored numerous pieces of legislation supporting the rights of guns owners in South Carolina. In terms of fiscal matters, Crawford believes that government has an obligation to refrain from spending more than it takes in from the public. Crawford’s pledge to the taxpayer is that she will do her very best to be a good steward of tax dollars by consistently exercising fiscal discipline.

Currently Crawford serves as the South Carolina National Committeewoman for the Young Republican National Federation and has spent a number of years engaging the youth in her local community and across the country. She has also played an active role in her church, Garden City Baptist, where she served as Director of Kingdom Kid’s, her church’s child development center. From 2008-2012 Crawford served as Chief of Staff for South Carolina Representative Alan Clemmons in Myrtle Beach and has had the opportunity to work with various community and business leaders on a host of different projects. Over the years she has also worked on a variety of different campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. Crawford and her husband, Cam, reside in Socastee and are members of Garden City Baptist Church. Today, Crawford serves as Vice President of Crawford Properties and is a Realtor with Prudential Myrtle Beach Real Estate.

Representative Crawford was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives on July 24, 2012, serving District 68 which encompasses the Greater Socastee area of Horry County. She currently serves on the House Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environmental Affairs Committee and holds a seat on the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments. Upon filling the seat, Representative Crawford was elected by her peers as Chairman of the House Freshman Caucus.
